TSC fires 36 teachers
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has fired 36 teachers over what they termed as professional misconduct.
Speaking to the media TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia said the teachers’ names have been removed from the register.
Some of the reasons behind the sack include desertion of duty, having sexual relationships with students, insubordination and negligence.
“It is notified for general information that pursuant to Sections 30 (4) and (5), 23 (2) of the Act: Where the name of a teacher is removed from the register, such a person shall not be reinstated except by direction of the commission,” reads the statement in part.
Recently the commission sacked 42 other teachers over failure to attend training on the Competence-Based-Curriculum (CBC).
