Musalia Mudavadi attacks Jubilee government over increased debt
The Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has yet again hit the Jubilee government over what he termed as unnecessary borrowing leading to increased national debt.
“We are borrowing for some projects that are not even clear and we don’t get value for money but our National Assembly just passes the motions, the more the debts the higher the taxes on local mwanainchi,” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi who speaking in Kibra on Tuesday while meeting members of the Friends Church said the Jubilee party is also using government machinery to campaign for McDonald Miriga in the November 7, Kibra by-election.
“I started giving out the warnings in 2015, now it has happened. Recently Parliamentary Committees concerned with the sealing of debts from Sh6 trillion to Sh9 trillion why not Sh7 trillion what is this magic figure of Sh9 trillion,” said Mudavadi.
“The Treasury Cabinet Secretary was there and unsuccessfully tried to defend himself they went to another delegated committee again they consulted. One committee recommended Sh7.5 trillion but the other committee shifted the figure back to Sh9 trillion,” he added.
