Nokia 4.2 Review: Specifications and Price in Kenya
MD Global, the company that owns the right to manufacture an and sell Nokia-branded handsets, launched the Nokia 4.2 smartphone in 2019. The Nokia 4.2 has 3GB+32GB RAM and is in two color options: Black and Pink. The Black and Pink color body is made out of Aluminum alloy and Polycarbonate.
The Nokia 4.2 is another such phone, offering a clean Android One experience at a budget price.
By concentrating on the essentials and sticking to Google’s bloat-free software template, alongside a sharp yet sober design, the Nokia 4.2 emulates a much more premium smartphone experience.
1. Nokia 4.2 Specifications
- Nokia 4.2 is a lightweight phone and weighs just 161 grams.
- It fits snugly into the palms and doesn’t slip from the grip
- 13 MP + 2 MP camera
- The body feels sturdy enough but registers fingerprints
- Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system
- Octa core (1.95 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53 + 1.45 GHz, Quad core, Cortex A53)
- The smartphone has got curved edges and is 148.95mm long, 71 .30mm wide and 8.39mm thick.
- The phone has Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset and ARM Cortex-A53, 1800 MHz, Cores: 4 processor. Nokia has always been in news and on social media for its battery life. Talking the battery into consideration, the phone is claimed to deliver up to 21 days of standby and talk time is 15 hours on a single charge.

2. Pushing all those Google buttons
Nokia called its latest phone a “mini flagship” at the MWC 2019 launch, which is quite a bold claim. It’s also a rather disingenuous one.
3. Design and display
- Pleasant glass-heavy design with light-up power button
- 71-inch LCD isn’t particularly sharp or punchy and the resolution of the screen is 720 x 1520 pixels.
- It’s a relatively compact phone at 148.95 x 71.3 x 8.39mm,
- The fingerprint scanner is well placed around the back, just under the central camera module.
4. Nokia 4.2 price and availability
In the UK, the Nokia 4.2 launched in a single 3GB/32GB variant at a price of £149 ($199, AU$299).
The phone is available in retail stores in Kenya for Ksh 18,500 and one of the five smartphones HMD Global unveiled earlier this year at MWC 2019 .
