Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has revealed why he revoked the appointment of Professor Stephen Kiama.
Magoha said he took the decision because the University of Nairobi(UoN) council did not consult him.
Magoha also dismissed wrangles at UoN after revoking Prof Kiama’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor, says he acted on Presidential directive.
The education Cabinet Secretary also degazetted the university’s six council members, including Chairperson Dr Julia Ojiambo, in a special notice dated January 17.
Prof Kiama, whose appointment was revoked as VC, was named in the position on January 21, but reports indicate the ministry was dissatisfied with the entire appointment process
