Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has threatened to take legal action against rapper Kennedy Ombima should he fail to pull down his sensational song dubbed ‘Wajinga nyinyi.’
Waiguru, in a letter through her lawyer Paul Kiragu Wathuta, wants the rapper to offer a full unconditional admission of liability in writing.
“Our instructions from you which we hereby do the compliance of the conditions set hereafter within 48 hours of the date of the receipt of the date of time of dispatch hereof; that you offer unequivocal unqualified and unreserved retraction as well as an apology to our client subject to review and approval,” reads part of the letter.
According to the governor, the artist made defamatory remarks about her, which depicts her as extremely corrupt, especially in reference to the National Youth Service (NYS) looting. The governor citing this lyrics from ‘Wajinga Nyinyi’ lyrics;
“Ati Waiguru ako kwa office na story ya NYS tulishasahau
Biro moja alibuy 8 thao, biro tunanunuanga mbao
Either sisi ndio wajinga ama ako na marking scheme ya Accau…”

She added that such lyrics paint her in a bad light as a governor and causing great damage to her reputation.
“You know or ought to have known our client is a national leader who has served Kenya in senior capacities and was duly elected by the people of Kirinyaga County on her merits and that such lyrics have greatly lowered the regard and esteem in which our client is held by right thinking members of the public of Kenya and abroad and not to mention in the eyes of the numerous persons with whom she interacts in the course of her public duties as the Governor of Kirinyaga as well as her other public and private life.”
She went on to reaffirm her innocence, stating that “in spite of numerous corruption allegation cases sent her way she has never been charged.”
“You know or ought to have known that despite extensive investigations and several prosecutions in relation to the loss of funds at NYS, our client has never been charged in a court of law as an accused person in relation to the NYS or any other scandal.”
She also stated that King Kaka’s main motive for releasing the song was to increase his popularity and twitter following.
