Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and a host of MPs allied to the Tanga Tanga political wing had a rough time on Friday morning when violent youths carrying stones disrupted their meeting.
While speaking outside the Lotus Hotel in Mombasa addressing the public how they have prepared themselves to attend the BBI meeting at Tononoka grounds on Saturday at least 30 youths came claiming they support the BBI and the politicians have undermined them for long.
“As you have seen they have come and the message is home. These are people who have been sent to scuttle our presser. You heard them say we have undermined them for long and they support the BBI,” said Jumwa.

“They are here just to create a scene for their bosses who sent them here. If BBi is about inclusivity we will be there to air our views as the Coastal people tomorrow,” she added.
A defiant Jumwa criticised the BBI and challenged the organisers to ensure that the podium is left to the coastal people tomorrow since they better understand the issues dear to the locals.
“If there are people who will speak then the priority for speeches should be accorded to the leaders from the Coastal region,”

Nyali MP Mohamed Ali who was also present after the violent youths left also echoed the sentiments of Jumwa and stated the key issues that they want to be addressed in Saturday’s meeting.
“We are the leaders of this region and BBI Mombasa chapter will talk about SGR, Cashewnuts, coconuts, infrastructure, health, education, extrajudicial killings and the port,” said Ali.

“Suna East MP Junet Mohamed we welcome you but don’t direct us on what to say keep your Migori and we keep our Mombasa. The meeting tomorrow will not talk about power-sharing or regional governors so that you can continue stealing from Kenyans,” he added.
The BBI meeting is expected to take place at the Tononoka grounds on Saturday and pro-DP Ruto MPs will be joining for the first time.
