Self-styled COTU boss Francis Atwoli has left a crowd of followers in stitches after he made an address in his characteristic hilarious manner naming the top three most popular figures in Kenya.
According to Atwoli, President Uhuru Kenyatta is the most popular figure in Kenya, followed by ODM leader Raila Odinga. He goes ahead to proclaim himself as the country’s third most popular person.
In what critics now interpret as a scathing attack on the personality of Deputy President William Ruto, the firebrand labor unionist finishes his address by saying “wengine woote ni punda” amidst laughter from the crowd.
Atwoli has been a fierce critic of Ruto in particular and the Tangatanga faction of the Jubilee party in general in recent days, often demanding respect for the president and telling off those who seem to digress.
