The Kenya Railway has banned food and soft drinks from outside onboard the Standard Guage Railway from Wednesday, October 2 2019.

“Example something like the sausage inside the SGR its almost Sh100 but if you buy outside it will cost you Sh25 and saved Sh75,” said one Kenyan.
According to some the food offered on the SGR could be unpalatable for them, while others said the ban will affect some passengers with special need on matters food and diet.
Previously passengers were allowed to carry foodstuffs the only exemption being alcohol.
The new directive comes in days after a viral video showed drunk couples disturbing the peace of other passengers aboard the SGR.
