Sarova Stanley and Sankara Nairobi, Autograph Collection are among Kenyan hotels that have won awards in the 2019 World Luxury Hotel Awards that were held on 12th October 2019 at the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel in Finland.

Hotel chain Sarova Hotels & Resorts clinched two awards for its properties, Sarova Stanley and Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa. Westlands hotel Sankara Nairobi, Autograph Collection won the Luxury Boutique Hotel, Africa award.

Sarova Stanley is located in the Nairobi CBD and is one of the few five-star hotels in Nairobi having been founded in 1902. Its facilities include restaurants, a bar, a lounge, a health club, and conference facilities. Sarova Whitesands is located in Mombasa and offers a beach experience with three themed restaurants, two bars, and the exclusive Cocos Beach Bar overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean. There are five outdoor swimming pools with water slides, springboard, diving boards and four floodlit tennis courts that also serve as a landing ground for helicopters.

Sankara is located in Westlands and has 168 rooms. It also has different bars and restaurants such as Artisan, Graze, Opera Patisserie, The Gallery, Sarabi, and The Champagne Bar to fit different tastes. It recently became the first hotel in Kenya to be under the Autograph Collection Hotels brand.

Mandarin Oriental, Bodrum emerged as the overall winner of the 2019 World Luxury Hotel Awards. It is a luxury five-star hotel with two private beaches and excellent leisure facilities. Its facilities include gourmet restaurants, a relaxing spa, and choice of rooms, suites, and villas.

The World Luxury Hotel Awards are in their 13th year and are presented on a country, regional, continent, and global basis. It is one of the world’s most prestigious awards recognizing the best facilities and service quality the hotel industry around the world has to offer. Winners are judged on service delivery and effective management which is voted for by international tour operators, travel agents and hotel guests who get the opportunity to cast their valuable votes annually.
