Liverpool’s star Sadio Mane has been named the Confedaration of African Football’s (CAF) 2019 African Player of the Year.
The Senegal star beat club team mate Mohamed Salah to pick up the award for the first time in his career.
Mohamed Salah had won the award in the last two years.
Mane picked up 477 votes to Salah’s 325, with Manchester City winger Mahrez receiving 267 votes.
Manchester City’s Algerian star Riyad Mahrez was also nominated in the category.
