Clifford Joseph Harris better known as T.I. earlier this month made inflammatory remarks about subjecting his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris to virginity checks.
A statement that caused outrage among a cross-section of the online community.
He has since defended his controversial statement purporting that he was misquoted.
Speaking to Jada Pinkett Smith on her show the ‘Red Table Talk’ T.I now claims that the examination happened when she was a younger teenager, and he exaggerated the story for comedic effect.
“Let me go set this record straight. I never said that I was in any exam room that is an assumption that is a falsity. I never said that it was done present day as an 18-year-old,” he said.
According to the rapper, the test was conducted when his daughter was around 15 years at the time.
“Her mum was present. All this false narrative has just been sensationalized.”
He went on: “She understands my intention, she knows who I am, she knows who I have always been and I think that allows a certain level of understanding,” he added.
Though T.I. is being trolled for his actions. He alleges that it is “a protective mechanism meant to protect her daughter from rogue men who might harm her.”

“I’m being criticized because I’m willing to go above and beyond to protect mine and I’m talking about all the little slimy, grimey, chubby-fingers little boys who want to just come and defile and destroy the sanctity that I have. .”
Earlier when asked on the Ladies like Us podcast about sex education for his children, he said: “Yes not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”
when the doctor shared with the rapper on the various ways a woman’s hymen could be broken, he said: I said look doc she doesn’t ride horses, bike, she doesn’t play any sport. Just check the hymen and give me back my results.”
