Prezzo pays tribute to brave Gen Zs

Speaking on the Every Other Time With Eric (EOTWE) YouTube podcast Prezzo commended Gen Z for the well-coordinated protest that took many Kenyans by surprise.

The Gen Z who had been long accused of political apathy and taking a backseat in politics took to the streets to demand better governance.

At the height of the protests, Gen Z achieved their seemingly far-fetched goal of occupying parliament.

On Tuesday 25th of June, the angry demonstrators gained access to Kenya’s parliament buildings in protest against the parliament’s passing of the Finance Bill 2024.

A visibly shaken President Ruto addressed the nation shortly afterward, reporting that the peaceful protests had been overtaken by thugs and criminals.

“It was peaceful, I was there. The Gen Zs had their phones in the air and Putin said I want to congratulate the youth in East Africa especially Kenya, the Gen Zs. The clip is there,” said Prezzo.

CMB Prezzo calls out Kenyan politicians for being unpatriotic

Prezzo also reacted to the “leaderless and tribeless” mantra of the Gen Z saying it could have played a role in difussing the protests.

According to Prezzo, the state easily outmaneuvered the youthful protestors by sending out dangerous goons in the streets. Unsure of their safety, the Gen Z retreated from their regular demonstrations.

The influential rapper also put the country’s political class on the spot for what he termed as unpatriotic.

He gave an example of his experience on Big Brother Africa, a reality television series that aired across Africa.

When he was first nominated for the contest Prezzo said he received harsh criticism for being ‘unfit’ to represent the country.

According to Prezzo, support from Kenyans came almost 80 days into the 90-day contest.

“Let me ask you a question, why do you think Raila Odinga said he is voting for Prezzo after 80 days give or take?”

The former Big Brother Africa participant metaphorically referred to the country’s leaders as monkeys in the same forest alluding to their common pursuit of self-interest.

Prezzo shockingly put Gen Z’s finest Kasmuel McOure in the same bracket, accusing the young good governance crusader of chasing clout.

“Anybody with a right working mind can see what the guy is trying to do. This guy is just looking for clout,” Prezzo said about McOure.

Prezzo recognized activist Boniface Mwangi and comedian Eric Omondi as genuine advocates for social justice, praising their consistency and long-term commitment to the cause.
