Khalif Kairo’s case against ongoing Kenyan protests
According to the popular car dealer and influencer, Kenya’s Gen Z has registered enormous achievements in the ongoing protests.
Kairo suggested that achievements like the ‘withdrawal’ of the Finance Bill 2024 and the president’s decision to dismiss his cabinet call for a tactical retreat by Gen Z.
“I have seen the Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome resign, and the president has hinted at the return of Kazi Mtaani,” says the aviation enthusiast.
The clashes witnessed in town between protestors and the police have led to wanton looting of businesses.
Goons and thugs have reportedly joined the protests, capitalizing on the disorder to steal property from supermarkets and shops across the country.
Khalif Kairo appealed to the protestors to empathize with business owners whose businesses face total collapse.
The aviation and automotive entrepreneur criticized the police’s repeated inability to handle protestors, leaving businesses vulnerable to criminals.
“My suggestion is we give other approaches a chance to see if they work and let’s avoid the streets because more people are going to die,” says Kairo in part.
Netizens breathe more fire on Kairo
Kairo’s appeals for Gen Z to wait until 2027 to clean up the entire governance system have landed him in more trouble online.
Once again, enraged internet users targeted him, labeling him a government operative and alleging that he had received payments from the authorities.
Kairo described the #RutoMustGo movement as a half-measure, asserting that even if the president resigns, his deputy and the parliament speaker, who are next in line, are also not saints.
