Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is currently being held at the Kilimani Police Station after a shooting took place at B-club on Galana Road.

According to Babu’s lawyer Cliff Ombeta, the statements recorded at the Kilimani Police Station do not implicate the MP over the shooting of the B-Club disc jokey.

“One of the people present during the shooting has even come to the station and written a statement. However, in his report, he does not mention Babu anywhere he only talks of being assaulted and his issue is with the club security, not Babu,” said Ombeta.

Ombeta also rubbished claims by DJ Evolve that it was Babu who shot him during the scuffle.
“You have also seen there is a change of story from the DJ’s earlier video and what he is saying now. That clearly shows that he is trying to take advantage of the situation,” he added.

Ombeta also urged supporters of the MP who are planning demonstrations on his behalf to hold their horses as they work around his release.
“Stay at home and keep the peace because you will be rioting without a purpose as the matter is still being investigated. Please stay at home and we shall inform you of any new development,” said Ombeta.
