KIBRA BY-ELECTION 2019: Big win for ODM ahead of Kibra by-election
The Orange Democratic Movement has the last laugh after, High Court Judge John Makau directed IEBC to furnish them with Kibra Constituency voters register ahead of November 7 by-election.
The Orange party had moved to court on Tuesday claiming that IEBC has refused to release Kibra voters register for inspection and verification.
However, IEBC has challenged the High Court decision saying it will take them 7 days to supply the register to ODM given that the materials have already been taken to Kibra.
“If we are to print the register, then it will be a great challenge. We cannot contact Delaru in the next two hours,” the IEBC’s lawyer said.
Their pleas fell on deaf ears as the judge ordered them to supply the register for verification meaning IEBC has less than 24 hours to comply since the polling stations open at 6 am, Thursday.
