Kasmuel insists he’s an ODM member, not a co-principal
In a lengthy statement posted on X, Kasmuel has rubbished questions about him challenging Raila’s leadership of the party.
During his unofficial initiation into ODM, Kasmuel showcased the rise of a young, politically engaged generation looking to take over and shape the country’s future.
While some viewed his move as bold, other young people saw it as a betrayal of the cause of good governance in Kenya.
Gen Z has accused the country’s political establishment of being responsible for the sorry state of the country.
Kasmuel has consistently displayed ambition, strategic thinking, and a strong desire to gain political power, sparking speculation that he may be aiming for a larger role within the ODM Party.
“A question I’ve been asked often of late, now that I’ve joined the @TheODMparty, is whether I could challenge His Excellency The Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga. Let me be crystal clear: I have no need, nor any intention, to do so,” wrote Kasmuel on X.
Kasmuel says he joined as a member, not a co-principal, and is satisfied working within ODM, the largest and most organized political party in Kenya.

Raila Odinga’s race for the African Union Chairmanship position has brought waves of uncertainty to the ODM Party.
