Jambojet to start flights to Kigali & Mogadishu in November
Budget airline Jambojet has announced that it will commence flights to Kigali, Rwanda and Mogadishu, Somalia in November.
The entry into the Kigali route makes Jambojet the only low -cost airline to operate the route from Nairobi. The company received approval to fly to Kigali in September this year.
The company has started selling flight tickets to the two cities in anticipation of the maiden flights in November. The airline will operate the two flights from its hub at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.
“Our entry into the two markets is part of our regional expansion program and brings to three the total number of routes we operate in the continent with the exception of those we fly to on behalf of Kenya Airways,” said Allan Kilavuka, Chief Executive Officer, Jambojet.
The airline will fly once daily to the two destinations. The one hour Nairobi- Kigali route will begin on Monday, November 25th at 1435 and from Kigali at 1615 with a promotional fare of Ksh. 11,240. The Nairobi-Mogadishu route will operate from Sunday, November 24th departing Nairobi at 0600 to arrive at 0845. The fare will start from Ksh. 24,470 one way.
Customers can book flights to the new destinations through all existing distribution channels that include; their website jambojet.com, sales offices, 24 hour call center (+254711024545/073404545/0730804545) and travel agents.
Jambojet recently acquired a brand new De Havilland Dash 8 -Q400 aircraft, a first of four aircrafts that are expected this year, to boost the airline’s capacity as it looks to expand into more regional destinations.
Jambojet is a budget airline owned by Kenya Airways.
