TV personality Maureen Waititu has for the first time spoken about her separation from Frankie Justgymit.
In an interview with Parents Magazine, Maureen revealed that the two had separated way before going public with it.
According to Maureen, she was happy while in the relationship with the father of her two kids. And had envisioned a happy everlasting fairy tale with Justgymit only to be disappointed at the end.
Even though the separation still hits her deeply. She disclosed that she has been teaching her heart to accept the situation and move on, leaving each day at a time.
“I’m still dealing with it. It takes time to come to terms with a breakup because of the physical and emotional toll… it feels almost like grief because I feel like I’ve lost someone who ideally I wanted to grow old with. It took me to a really dark place and it’s definitely not the way I envisioned things,” she said.
Her closure comes barely months since they went public with their separation.
Although it is not clear what led to the split, the two made a decision to keep the disagreement civil for the sake of their adorable sons.
In September through an Instagram post, Frankie disclosed that they had parted ways with Waititu because of irreconcilable differences.
