For months now bongo Flava finest Diamond Platnumz and Ali Kiba have been on a scuffle over who controls Tanzania’s music scene.
Their ongoing beef escalated late last year when Ali Kiba declined WCB’s offer to perform at their annual festival.
The Mwana hitmaker rejected the offer citing it as a mockery to his career and warned Platnumz to keep off.
“Usiniletee mambo ya darasa la pili unaniiibia penseli alafu unanisaidia kutafuta. Unikome,” wrote Kiba on his Instagram account.

And now Kiba’s brother Issa Azam has waded into the matter. Speaking to Bongo 5 Issa said that he relates more with the African Beauty crooner, a position that he holds and has since cost him, friendship with his brother.
“When it came to choosing teams I had to follow my heart. I am a man of the people so obviously many will follow me, which did not go well with Ali’s fans. Diamond heard I was being beaten by some Ali Kiba people,” said Issa.
It is reported that Issa and Platnumz are the best of buddies, and on numerous occasions, they have been spotted hanging out and posing for pictures together. According to Issa the Moyo Wangu star even paid for his concert tickets when Ne-Yo had an event in Tanzania.
“What shocked me the most is when Diamond called me. It was the first time he called me, I don’t even know where he got my number and asked me to send him my ID so that he can facilitate my travel to the Ne-Yo concert. May God bless him,” he said.
