Huawei Y9s launched in Kenya Pre-order from 14th to 28th of November
Huawei has officially launched the Huawei Y9s smartphone in the Kenyan market. The mid-range smartphone will retail at Ksh. 31,999.
The tech company also launched the Band 4 series of wearable devices at the launch event. The devices that are available are the Band 4, which will retail at Ksh. 4,699 and the Band 4e, which will go for Ksh. 3,199.
The Huawei Y9s runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1 and it comes with 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, Hisilicon Kirin 710F chipset, Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and Mali-G51 MP4 CPU. It features 4 cameras with 48 Megapixels + 8 Megapixels + 2 Megapixel at the back and a 16 Megapixel pop-up selfie camera. Other features include a Non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery, 6.59 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and a side fingerprint sensor. The side fingerprint sensor is a first for Huawei devices. The Y9s comes in two colors i.e. Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal.
The Huawei Band 4 series of wearable devices are designed for sports, fitness, and fashion lovers. This is the first time the company is officially bringing wearable devices it manufacturers to Kenya.
The Huawei Band 4 comes in a 0.96’’ colourful touch screen that is able to show notifications, messages from your phone, heart rate, track the number of steps you have walked or ran, and also monitor your sleep. When working out, it can identify your workout state and switch to the real-time heart rate tracking mode. The heart rate tracking applies for all modes of outdoor/ indoor run, outdoor/ indoor walk, outdoor/ indoor cycle, elliptical, rower, and free training. The band 4 comes in three straps i.e. Sakura pink, Amber sunrise and Graphite black.
The Huawei Band 4e is unique because it can be worn on the wrist and also be attached to your shoe so that it can track your movements as you go about your day or when you are exercising or playing sports. It features functions that include; information reminder, incoming call reminder, smart alarm, sleep monitoring, real-time movement data display, movement target setting, sedentary reminder, event reminder, mobile phone finder, Bluetooth disconnection reminder, etc. The device comes in six colourful straps i.e. Misty Grey, Sakura Coral, Seaweed Green, Ceylon Yellow, Alizarin Red and Cobalt Violet.
The Huawei Y9s will be available in the market on pre-order between 22nd and 28th November. Customers who pre-order the phone will be able get free wireless headphones for every pre-order made. The Huawei Band 4 series will also be available for pre-order on the same date. The devices will then be available for sale on the open market on 29th November.
