List of All European Union (EU) Members

The European Union is an economic and political block uniting 27 European Countries. The formation of the union began after the second world war in 1945.

Treaties signed in Rome put Europe on a path of recovery from the world wars and economic prosperity.

The following are the EU Member countries;

1. Austria

    1. Austria is a landlocked country in central Europe.
    2. Its capital is in Viena and German is its official language.
    3. Austria joined the EU on 1st January 1995.
    4. Austria’s currency is the euro.

 

2. Belgium

    1. Belgium is a country in western Europe.
    2. Its capital Brussels is the headquarters of the European Union.
    3. Belgium joined the EU on 1st January 1958.
    4. Belgium’s currency is the euro.
    5. Belgium official languages are  Dutch, French, and German.

 

3. Bulgaria

    1. Bulgaria is a Balkan country in southern Europe.
    2. Its official language is Bulgarian.
    3. Bulgaria joined the EU on 1st January 2007.
    4. Bulgaria’s currencies are the Bulgarian lev BGN and is also looking to adopt the euro.

 

4. Croatia

    1. Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe.
    2. Croatia joined the EU on 1st July 2013.
    3. Croatia’s currency is the Croatian Kuna HRK and is also looking to adopt the euro.
    4. Its official language is Croatian.

 

5. Cyprus

    1. Cyprus is an island country in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
    2. Cyprus joined the EU on 1st May 2004.
    3. Cyprus’ currency is the euro.
    4. Its official language is Greek.

 

6. Czechia

    1. Czechia is a landlocked country in central Europe.
    2. Czechia joined the EU on 1st May 2004.
    3. Czechia’s currency is the Czech koruna (CZK) and is also looking to adopt the euro.
    4. Czechia’s capital is Prague and its official language is Czech.

 

7. Denmark

    1. Denmark is a Scandinavian country with its capital in Copenhagen.
    2. Denmark joined the EU on 1st January 1973.
    3. Denmark’s currency is the Danish krone DKK.
    4. Denmark’s official EU language is Danish.

23. Romania
