Robert Kyangulanyi alias Bobi Wine has come out to condemn Monday’s event where a woman was killed during a confrontation with police in the capital, Kampala.

It is reported that Bobi was to hold a consultative meeting on Monday, but which police blocked saying he had not met requirements agreed by the electoral commission.

Following the chaotic event where a woman was killed, identified as Rita Nabukenya, Bobi taking to his Twitter account condemned the government for the death of the slain lady.

“Very sad day! Yet again, a leader of the People Power Movement has been murdered by the Museveni regime.” He wrote on his twitter page. “Police officers in a patrol vehicle saw comrade Rita Nabukenya donning our attire, drove after her and knocked her dead in broad daylight. We must end this regime of blood,” said the youthful opposition leader.

But Ugandan authorities have since come out to dismiss the allegations. According to Kampala Metropilitan Police deputy spokesman, Luke Owoyesigyire said that the woman was seriously injured after falling off a motorcycle.
