Kasmuel McOure’s regular visit to a Nairobi members’ club led him into uncharted territory when pictures of him with South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro surfaced.
The legislator, who serves as the majority whip in the National Assembly, met McOure at the club where they had a chat.
Pictures of the friendly engagement shortly hit the internet inviting speculations that the influential good governance crusader had been bought by the government.
Hon. Osoro is a key member of the ruling Kenya Kwanza coalition and is instrumental in pushing the government agenda in parliament.
Osoro is widely regarded as one of President Ruto’s closest allies and is believed to be among those influencing his decisions on public policy.
To many, the friendly chat between the MP and Kasmuel suggested that the regime had swayed the activist.

According to McOure, it makes more sense to engage leaders directly when encountering them, rather than risking lives in the streets.
The outspoken artist also noted that his encounter with the MP was his first at the social place.
“I go to that members’ club often and meet plenty of Kenyans there. The Majority Whip of Parliament is one of the many members. It was my first time meeting him, and I took the opportunity to say to his face what I’ve always said online: Their government has failed us in fundamental ways,” wrote the activist on Twitter (X).
The outspoken McOure shared more about their discussion, noting that although they disagreed on several points, they did find common ground on a few others.
Inside Kasmuel’s plans for change beyond street protests
The passionate Gen Z activist also condemned what he referred to as his mischaracterization by Kenyans.
According to him, many Kenyans only associate him with street protests which he has exemplary led in the past few weeks.
Kasmuel reminds his critics that there are many ways at his disposal to help usher in a new Kenya that works for all citizens.
“My online critics have often tried to relegate me to protests alone. However, you can not only dismiss me to die in the streets, as if my leadership was destined to end there. If I get the chance to speak truth to power, I’ll do it every time,” wrote Kasmuel on X.

The leading Gen Z activist also announced plans to conduct civic education away from street protests.
Kasmuel announced that he and his group will organize public rallies to educate the public on government accountability and responsible leadership, among other important issues.
“We’ll keep our door-to-door campaigns going while also taking civic education to marketplaces and bus stages. We will drain this swamp and take political power!” announced McOure.
