Fuel Prices Up Marginally: Petrol, Diesel Rise, Kerosene Drops by Ksh 3
The Energy & Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced the maximum retail pump prices of petroleum products for the period between 15th September to 14th October 2019.
The price of petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol and Diesel increase by KSh. 0.28 per litre and KSh. 2.44 per litre respectively while Kerosene has decreased by KSh. 3.31 per litre.
The pump prices are inclusive of 8% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2018 and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 109 of 9th July 2019.
The changes are attributed to a change in the cost of the differentiated petroleum products.
“The free on board price of Murban crude oil lifted was posted at Ksh.6416.90 ($62.30), a decrease of 5.82 percent per barrel in July 2019,” noted EPRA in a statement issued Saturday.
At the same time, the Kenyan shilling exchange rate against the US dollar dipped marginally from Ksh.103.31 to Ksh.103.44 during last month.
