Fresh twist in property tussle case facing Raila Odinga’s family
Another twist has emerged in the property case pitting ODM Party leader Raila Odinga’s son Fidel Odinga against her widow Lwam Bekele.
On Wednesday, the court ordered a DNA test to be conducted to establish whether the two children in Bekele’s custody were sired by the late Fidel.
On their defence the Raila family presented several reasons why Bekele should not be allowed to administrate Fidel’s properties. Ida further stated that Fidel had two other kids with a different woman and are also legal dependant yet Bekele had refused to include them.
“The petitioner has deliberately failed to include and provide or otherwise show the intention of providing for the said minors hence a red flag on her intentions,” Ida said.
However, in her defence, Bekele said the twins in question were born six months after Fidel’s death. Bekele accepted to accommodate the ‘controversial’ twins if the DNA proves they are indeed Fidel’s children.
