Former Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro summoned by EACC
Former Kasaranin constituency lawmaker Elizabeth Ongoro and 25 others have been summoned by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission officers over suspected involvement in the Sh48 million school project scam.
Ongoro together with her husband Masha Kenga are prime suspects in the Kasarani Girls High School project which costed Sh48,907, 826 yet it does not exist.
“The Commission established that the award of the contract for the construction of the school was made without due regard to the procurement laws, the school does not exist and that payments were made to different individuals and companies associated to the National Government Constituency Development Fund patron and committee members for services not rendered,” EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak said in a statement to newsrooms.
Two suspects who served the Kasarani NG-CDF tender committee at the time of the ghost project are already in police custody.
They are former Kasarani District Development Officer Kefa Omanga Omoi and ex-Kasarani CDF Committee member Jecinta Akoth Opondi.
Ongoro and 18 others have been ordered to present themselves immediately at the Integrity Center.
