Diet is one of the most important aspects of pregnancy. A well-balanced diet is an essential thing for pregnant women all times.

For this reason, women need to be cautious about their menus because the diet components affect the unborn baby. This can be both positively and negatively, so the choice falls squarely on the mother.

Alcohol

Expecting women are no exemptions to this case and must try as much as possible to keep these types of food.

Alcohol poses adverse effects during pregnancy.

Prenatal alcohol exposure can result in the poor development of the baby, leading to fetal alcohol syndrome and other developmental disorders.

Caffeine

Studies have proved that Caffeine intake during pregnancy can result in miscarriages.

Therefore, it’s generally advisable not to consume caffeine during periods of pregnancy, especially the first trimester (the first three months of pregnancy) to avoid chances of miscarriages.

undercooked eggs

Not well done or raw eggs and any product that contains raw eggs (like mayonnaise sauce) should be avoided because of bacteria salmonella.

The salmonella bacteria can cause gastrointestinal infection which can, in turn, cause the mother to lose fluid and nutrients. Eggs have a lot of proteins, if the pregnant woman decides to take them they must be very well boiled.

Deli meat

Meats of all kinds, especially undercooked meats like deli meat are harmful because of their high-fat content and listeria, which can cause premature births. Like fish, it needs to be cooked at a temperature higher than 63 degrees Celsius, pork at 71 degrees and chicken at 71 respectively.

Undercooked fish

During pregnancy, it is recommended not to eat raw fish and bad boiled fish because of its high mercury content. If you have to eat fish, make sure it is very well cooked and you should not take more than two pieces per week. Types of fish you can take are salmon, shrimp and tilapia but make sure they are cooked at 63 degrees Celsius.
