FKF given 30 days to pay former Harambee Stars coach Adel Amrouche Sh108 million
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has been ordered by Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) to pay former Harambee Stars tactician Adel Amrouche Sh108 million in the next 30 days over wrongful dismissal.
FKF President Nick Mwendwa confirmed the receipt of the letter from the Algerian coach lawyer.
“We have received the demand letter from the lawyers and now the only thing we have to do is pay up. We have tried to delay it for the last four years but the verdict from CAS is out, we just have to go through with it,” Mwendwa said.
“The lawyers had said they want the payment by 19th of this month but the law allows for 30 days from the day we received the letter, that is Tuesday, October 1,” he added.
Kenya risks being shut out from the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers if the payment is done in the prescribed time.
Amrouche took FKF to the highest sports court after he was fired by the previous regime under Sam Nyamweya without just course.
