Jamaican dancehall maestro Adidja Azim Palmer better known as Vybz Kartel celebrated his 44th birthday Tuesday a midst hope in his murder appeal.

The Jamaican recording artist was in 2014 convicted for the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, alongside three others; Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John. They were found guilty and each handed mandatory life sentences.

For the past couple of months, the Summertime hitmaker has been vocal about his criminal case. He has decried of the injustice he is facing with the case, especially with the court of appeal.

Last December the court of appeal through its registrar Stacie-Ann Reid, in a letter to Kartel’s lead attorney indicated that it would issue a ruling soon regarding the murder case.

“I am feeling strong, up, and positive about everything, and I am just waiting on that special day to come, enuh,” Sikka Rymes, World Boss’ family member told the press.

He added: “I look at him [Vybz Kartel] as more than a mentor. He is a father, uncle, brother, and everything in one. We may not have any celebrations planned at the moment, but I can tell you it’s going to be a day all of us come together as one and just bare laughter.”
