– Kenyan band group signs major deal with Los Angeles-based group Universal Music Africa
Kenyan band group Sauti Sol has signed a new recording agreement with Universal Music Africa (UMA), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG).
The new agreement which comes with lots of benefits will see the band group land major breaks in terms of deals, opportunities of reaching Universal Music Group’s far-reaching audience and even major shows.
Sauti Sol’s lead singer Bien Aime was over the moon and took to social media to share the sudden development.
He shared a photo of the group with some of the representatives from UMG and captioned: “It’s official! Our first major label deal, @universalmusicgroup. Thank you guys for being patient. We really hope y’all are ready for the new album. 🔥 #MIDNIGHTRAIN 🌎🚀 @umgsa @africacreativeagency.”
Speaking about the deal he said.
” I love new beginnings. I have waited for this day for all my life. I can’t wait to share love, music and be back on the road. The year off has really been a steep learning curve. But I couldn’t think of a better way to come back than this album. @sautisol fans are about to have a blast.”
While Chimano further in a post went out of his way to celebrate the teams hank the record label for giving them a success, at the same time he thanked the record label for the lifetime opportunity.

Other notable African artists who have partnered with the Los Angeles-based group include Tiwa Savage, Tekno Miless, Vavessa Mdee, Mr.Eazi, Stone Bwoy and bongo flava star Diamond Platnumz among others.
