Nicki Minaj’s brother Jelani Maraj has been handed down a 25-year sentence after he was found guilty of child sexual offences.
According to TMZ Jelani was sentenced in a New York court Tuesday by Judge Robert McDonald years after the guilty verdict was reached. Maraj was actually found guilty in November 2017.

Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of a child in a trial that lasted less than three weeks.
It is reported that Nicki failed to testify at her brother’s trial despite claims made by her brother’s defence team that she would.

He was found guilty of repeatedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl over a period of eight months.
He was arrested and charged in 2015.

While defending the accused, the defence team rubbished charges which were brought against Maraj, terming it as baseless and false and instead claimed the charges brought forth by the victim’s mother was in a bid to extort a whooping £25 million from singer Minaj.
However, during the trial, Miraj and his entire defence team alleged claims were watered down after DNA evidence found on the girl’s pyjama bottom matched with that of Maraj’s.
