– Rapper sentenced to 99 years in prison for paying a hitman to kill his own mum
A Chicago rapper who goes by the name Qaw’mane Wilson AKA “Young QC was on Friday handed down a 99-year sentence for killing Yolanda Holmes back in 2012.
He was convicted alongside the hitman Eugene Spencer, who received a 100-year sentence for committing the heinous crime.
The court heard how the young aspiring rapper cleared his mum’s bank account shortly after her death.
It is reported that Wilson then, 23 ordered Spencer to enter her mother’s Chicago apartment, where he shot her.
According to reports he used the money to flaunt in his music videos and would also give thousands of dollars to his fans.
While handing down the verdict, Cook County Judge Stanley Sacks painted a picture of Holmes as a loving and caring mother who was committed and devoted to her son.
“Whatever he wanted, his mother gave to him. A car. A job. One could say he was spoiled.
“She gave Qaw’mane life, and it was his choice to take it away from her,” Judge Sacks told the court.
Asked what he had to tell the court, Wilson said:
“I just want to say, nobody loved my mother more than me,” he said. “She was all I had. That’s it.”
