Police officer assaulted, riffle stolen by three men armed with a spade

Two police officers were attacked while on duty, Tuesday by three men who were armed with a spade along Murang’a- Sagana Road in Kabuta area near River Mathioya.

The two officers who are attached to the traffic department at the Murang’ a station found themselves in trouble when three men emerged from a nearby bush with one of them armed with a spade.

According to the OB report, 33/15/01/2020 clocked in at 4:30 pm by one of the officers at the crime scene Copral Caroline Njagi the three men surrounded and assaulted his colleague Police Constable Morris Mwiti Miriti.

PC Mwiti was hit on the left forehead and left jaw with a spade and his riffle number 44332626(Jericho) was also stolen.

PC Mwiti was rushed to the Murang’ a Level Five hospital for medical attention.

The sub-county commander and DCI officer Murang’a East have visited the crime scene as investigations continue.
