Suspected Al Shabab mobsters have staged an attack on a Moyale Raha bus bound for Nairobi from Mandera. Reports indicate that at least three people have been killed by the dreaded terror grouping in the incident that occurred around the Sarman area of Mandera County on Wednesday.

Moyale Raha bus company has issued a statement to the press indicating that the ill-fated bus had left Mandera town at dawn only to bump into the attackers on its way to Nairobi. The gunmen are said to have indiscriminately rained bullets on the bus causing the three deaths and multiple injuries.

“We are told the gunmen shot at the tyres but the driver sped off only to get into more gunfire ahead, ” read part of the statement from the company office.

The incident has been confirmed by Mandera County Commissioner Onesmus Kathya who was economical with details saying his office was waiting for the police to provide more information.

“Something has happened but I am waiting for finer details”, stated Kyatha.
