Churchill show’s content creatives and the entire laugh industry at large Thursday paid last tribute to celebrated Swahili comedian Njenga Mswahili, as he was laid to rest.
Njenga passed away last week after his body was discovered near railway tracks under unclear circumstances.
The comedian who wowed! Crowds took final rest at the Langata cemetery.
Comedians present eulogized Mswahili as a people’s person who loved comedy and entertaining people.
Here is what some of the comedians had to say about the fallen giant at his graveside:
Mc Jessy:” It’s sad that we have lost Njenga, our team is about bringing comedians together as a family so losing him hurts us a lot. When grief comes to us we do not even know how to handle it. We lost Ayeiya and now Njenga and we never saw it coming.
We all believed that we would grow old together, we always pray together for God to see us through the ear but they are no more.
We do not know how to deal with it because as comedians we are supposed to make people laugh.”
Churchill Show content Creative Terrence also paid last respects to late comedian:
“His style of comedy was unique. He made us keep going to a Kamusi to keep confirming the meaning of what he was saying. I don’t have much to say but I know he will meet with Ayeiya in heaven and continue with the show.”
Fellow female comedian Lucy Mwende was also not left behind;
‘We have come to bid our friend Njenga goodbye, We would love to send our Condolences. He has just gone before us but we will follow him.’
