Aoko in trouble over comments on Jamal Roho Safi’s earlier marriage with Amira
More details have emerged after Maverick Aoko’s court appearance on Monday.
The latest charges on Aoko threw Kenyans into confusion following widespread rumors that a senior government official was behind her arrest.
Most Kenyans closely following the events believed that Aoko’s arrest was due to her explosive tweets targeting government officials and members of the first family.
The formal charge sheet took Kenyans by surprise as the unlikely name Beth Wambui Mbuitu appeared as the complainant.
On the charge sheet, the Director of Public Prosecution singled out a tweet posted by outspoken blogger Aoko as follows:
“Maze it disorients me to say this.. But Amber Ray is innocent. She did not ruin the marriage ya Jamal and Amira. Beth did. She’s the daughter of a powerful cop so if you find me in Kware, refer to this tweet,”
According to the prosecution, Aoko posted the false information fully aware that it was malicious and well-calculated to cause fear, panic, and destroy the reputation of Beth Wambui Mbuitu.
In her tweets, Aoko also questioned Jamal’s rise from a matatu tout in South C to a big-shot matatu owner.
The Jamal, Amber Ray, and Amira Love Triangle
Jamal was forced to walk out on his high school love Amira following years of family disputes rocking their marriage.
In an interview with YouTuber Eve Mungai, Mr. Roho Safi revealed that his wife Amira was also away most of the time during their marriage.
His mother stepped in to look after the kids as he steadfastly worked his way up in Nairobi’s matatu industry.
Meanwhile, Jamal’s attention was drawn to the beautiful Amber Ray who was a neighbour in the estate.
Things went south after Jamal decided to date Amber Ray. His then-wife Amira went berserk with occasional harsh outbursts towards them.
Amira reportedly demanded a public apology from Jamal which she wanted to be posted on his social media.
After more disagreements, Jamal kicked out Amira, who then moved on from the relationship.
While Amira chose not to respond to the claims, Jamal went on to date Wangari Thiongo.
Amber Ray also fled the estate to be away from the intense drama and currently dates Kennedy Rapudo.

The role Beth Wambui played in all these events as alleged by Aoko remains unclear. Aoko was released on a KES 100,000 cash bail. Her phones and other electronic gadgets, however, remain confiscated by the authorities. A pre-trial of the case is set to be conducted on September 2nd.
