Morara Kebaso vows to ignite a political storm over Gachagua’s impeachment

Popular activist Morara Kebaso shared his busy Friday schedule with supporters on Thursday evening, highlighting a full day of political events and court appearances.

According to his public schedule, Morara was to attend a public participation event organized at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC).

The INJECT Party Leader was set to give his views on the impeachment motion against the Deputy President which was tabled in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

While maintaining that the impeachment is a big distraction from the real issues, Morara called for the removal from office of both the president and his deputy.

Mr. Kebaso intended to be the first person at the venue, express his views, and proceed to court to attend to a case against him.

The venue was, however, mysteriously changed Friday morning to Bomas of Kenya just outside Nairobi’s Central Business District.

“William Ruto brought this impeachment motion to divert us from how our money was being stolen under Adani, and now they’ve forcefully moved Kenyans from NHIF to SHA. Gachagua’s impeachment has been on the front pages of newspapers diverting Kenyans from the real issues,” said Morara Kebaso on his way to Bomas.

Mr. Kebaso warned the state that his movement would join the sideshows and beat the government at its own game.

“We have agreed to be diverted. We are going to join that diversion (impeachment), we are going to own it, and turn it into what you never thought it would become. We want both of them gone. They came as a package, let them go together,” added Morara.

Horrifying scenes in scathing Friday morning attack against Morara Kebaso

Morara has revealed that he was denied entry upon arrival at Bomas. After successfully getting into the venue, he was also denied the microphone before dangerous chaos erupted.

A group of men believed to be paid goons lifted chairs from the floor and started throwing them in Morara’s direction.

His associates and bodyguards tried to shield him from the flying chairs hurled like missile projectiles.

In the next few seconds, the Bomas floor turned into a full-scale warzone with chairs dangerously thrown from all directions towards Morara.

The activist was momentarily pinned at a corner of the arena where he took in lethal impact from the chairs on his face and body.

As the vicious attack on Morara unfolded, voices from the event’s moderators rang in the air.

The first voice, belonging to an unidentified woman, called for Morara’s removal, accusing him of disrupting the event. “Everyone has an opinion. Piga! Morara you cannot come to destroy a meeting!” said the female host.

The second voice is allegedly from Ruaraka MP T. J. Kajwang who cheered the goons as the goons attacked a fleeing Morara.

“Hii ndio utamu ya Nairobi! Ndio! Ndio! Yes! Yes! Yes! Hatutaki Ujinga hapa!” He shouted.

“I was barred from entering Bomas at the gate. When I finally got in, I was denied the mic on the BOMAS floor. Chaos erupted. I am hurt. Headed to hospital. I live to speak another day,” wrote Kebaso in the aftermath of the attack.

Morara miraculously survived the brutal attack during what has become the most chaotic public participation event in Kenya’s history.

Details on who mobilized and staged the attack remain scanty as Kenyans ponder over the safety of activist Morara Kebaso.
