Effective natural remedies for dandruff
After the rainy and chilly weather of the last few months, January is here again with us. The dusty, hot and scorching month is here.
There is nothing as frustrating as a flaky and itching scalp in this month. Most ladies having dandruff issues might have tried all the available products with the anti-dandruff labelling and it might have not worked.
Dandruff is a chronic non-inflammatory scaling of the scalp which affects so many people. the causes can vary from various reasons such as dry skin, Malassezia fungus, seborrheic dermatitis, poor hygiene, contact dermatitis and some products that irritate.
What are some of the natural remedies that can help curb the dandruff menace?
Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider has a wide range of benefits to the body as a whole. It contains a wide range of minerals and vitamins that are good for natural hair.
If you are dealing with an itchy scalp or hair breakage, apple cider vinegar is the solution that you need.
You can use it to rinse off the hair after shampooing and conditioning. should be used sparingly.
Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil is an essential oil that can be used to treat various conditions. Tea tree oil contains terpinen-4-ol which is a great antimicrobial. This compound helps to suppress the growth of fungi and bacteria on the scalp.
Add a few drops of the tea tree oil to your shampoo and use it, do not apply it directly to the scalp.

Peppermint essential oils
Peppermint essential oil is good for dry and itching scalp as it contains antifungal and antimicrobial properties.
As a result of these properties, it helps alleviate some of the dandruff.
Baking soda
Sodium bicarbonate will never miss in any kitchen pantry. Research shows that baking soda inhibits the growth of dandruff-causing fungi.
Baking soda is known to be a gentle exfoliate for the skin. When applied to the hair, it helps remove the excess skin that might pile up on the scalp.
