The police officers working with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) have impounded two Modern Coast buses en route to Mombasa on Wednesday at 3:30 am.
The two buses with 45 passengers each were intercepted at Sultan Hamud township, Makueni County hours after day after NTSA dismissed reports that ban on the company had been lifted.
Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan said the two Modern Coast were back on the road despite the ongoing suspension of all the buses in the company.
The bus company’s normal operations were suspended after two of their buses collided on 12 December 2019, claiming the lives of more than 5 people and scores injured.
On Tuesday 17th December Modern Coast had tweeted to inform their clients that they were back for normal operations.
