We live in an era where the internet is easily accessible to everyone and even small children because parents are opting to have Wi-Fi installed in their homes. This is unlike the older times where few people had phones to start with and the internet was unheard of.
Every technology comes with its fair share of disadvantages. Though the internet has its advantages, it also has its share of disadvantages.
That aside we talking about cybersex, what is it? Do people really have sex online? You might be wondering. Cybersex entails watching pornographic content online and also having sex online.
People have sex online, you might be wondering how that can happen when the person is miles away. You don’t have to be physically present to have sex with someone.
So in a lay man’s language, cybersex is when you have erotic conversations, look at each other on a webcam, or masturbate.
Is it a good idea? What are the risks? If you choose to do it, how can you keep it safe and enjoyable?

A few years ago, one of the top deejays in the country was trending for all the wrong reasons. Apparently, his sex tape was released to the online community by an unknown person, it was a very embarrassing experience for him as he got trolled for the video.

Here are some of the tips to keep you safe if you decide to engage in cybersex.
Only engage in this when you are ready. Let no one pressurize you into doing something that you don’t want to engage in. you must be psychologically prepared for this.
- Agree beforehand whether you are prepared to allow the other person to record webcam video or stills.
- If you allow the other person to record video or stills, agree that you will never share them with other people. You will therefore never upload them onto the internet.
- Make sure your face is never visible in the picture. Then you will not be recognisable if the pictures do end up on the internet.
- Be aware you can never know whether someone is recording the images from your webcam or not. And you can never know what will happen to the recording. You could easily find a video of you has been uploaded to a porn site. Pictures or video of you can end up floating around on the internet for years, being viewed by thousands of people.
As you engage in cybersex, always watch out for the following people; pimps, fakers, stalkers and players. When you do this diligently, it will help you not get trapped or engaged with people who have bad intentions for you.
