14 senior officers arrested
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested 14 senior officers attached to the Civil Registration Bureau over graft allegation.
According to an official list released on Friday, by Police Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai, 24 officers are being pursued over corruption allegations.
Some of the accusations against the officers include soliciting bribes from members of the public who seek birth and death certificates.
“Government offices are not conduits for brokers and criminals to enrich themselves by coning members of the public,” said Mutyambai.

Principal records officer – Charles Akwoni.
Principal civil registration officer – Charity Mwadime.
Assistan principal civil registration officer t – Jane Maina.
Civil registration officer – Patrick Silla.
Civil registration officer – Peter Nganga.
Assistant civil registration officer – Joyce Keitany.
Assistant office administrator – Maxmilla Ouma.
The arrests come in one week after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and his Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho pitched camp at the CRB offices in Upper Hill, Nairobi.
