Governor James Ongwae on the spot over alleged nepotism
Kisii County Governor James Ongwae, the Speaker, MCA Apepo and Finance CEC Mr Onderi are on the spotlight over alleged nepotism in matters employment in the county through the Public Service Board.
One resident who revealed the allegations on condition of anonymity said MCA Apepo, Finance CEC Onderi and the County Assembly Speaker are already planning to employ their relative known as Jeriah to the board.
Governor Ongwae has also been accused of appointing one Mr Bogonko his relative from Kitutu North.
Our source further revealed that the top leadership has been working in cahoots with the Speaker to pass the appointments which are against the wishes of the people.
“Knowing his crime and in order to escape the prying eyes of those who know it, he picked the names and forwarded to Speaker in a sealed envelope to be opened and tabled in the assembly in his absence.”
The source also criticised the county leadership for picking another representative to the Public Service Board from Kitutu Chache North a second year running at the expense of other constituencies.
“Kitutu Chache North has a majority of the people working in the county government. They have several directors and hold plum jobs at the county. They look down upon all other people.”
“As we are speaking, the speaker and clerk want to present the names to county assembly with all the flaws and lack of representation.”
