Mistakes that ladies make when shaving the legs
Most ladies have been shaving the legs for the longest time possible . However, when the shaving is not done correctly, you might end up with bumps on the legs, razor cuts and other misfortunes happening.
This might end up giving you scars on the leg rather than the smooth, soft, silky skin that you have been yearning for.
If you are still struggling with a missed spot, irritating bumps, here is a safe way to go about shaving the legs with less casualty.
Dry shaving or using a bar soap
When shaving you should always lather up your legs with a moisturizing shaving cream or gel. This helps to guard the skin and make the razor to glide up and down the skin with utmost ease.
Soap does not create enough lubrication for the razor to glide easily against your skin.
To avoid cuts and nicks always use a moisturizer.
Using a single blade razor for shaving
Always invest in a 4-5 blade shaver an example is Gillette Venus Swirl. This is because they provide a smooth result as opposed to single blade.
Single blades have the tendency to drag against the skin hence the result gotten after the shave is cuts, bumps and ingrown hair.
Not replacing the shaving blades quite often
The first rule to shaving is to always change the blades as often as you can. You don’t have to wait for the blades to get dull before changing them.
Old blades are more likely to cause bumps which can trap bacteria hence causing an infection.
So you should always change the blades like after every two weeks.
Not preventing the razor burns in the right way
Most of the ingrown hair cases is as a result of close shaving on the skin.
Untreated razor burns can lead to a long term scaring, so to avoid the scaring always use a body scrub or an exfoliating body wash twice per week.
The exfoliating body wash or body scrub also helps to shed off the skin that’s trapping air. afterwards apply lotion to relax the skin.
Shaving with men’s blades
Ladies should always stick to using female razors that are designed for ladies. These blades are actually designed for ladies hair and skin.
Men’s blades are just for there use and nothing else.
