BBI is not about getting me a post-2022 job, I am tired — President Uhuru Kenyatta
Few weeks before the Building Bridges Initiative report is made public to Kenyans, President Uhuru Kenyatta has refuted claims that the initiative is clandestinely geared towards ensuring he remains in power after the 2022 elections.
While speaking by the roadside during the launch of JKIA-Westlands Expressway, Uhuru said BBI is not about how and he will not seek any political office after 2022.
“They are saying that Uhuru wants to extend his tenure in a political office through BBI. I don’t want any more work I am tired,” he said.
“BBi is meant to ensure that no other Kenyan will shed blood again because of politics and I know together with my brother Raila(Odinga) and leaders across the republic that dream will be achieved. So do not be cheated,” he added.
Uhuru finally urged Kenyans to be democratic and never give space for politicians who hoodwink them into tribal politics. He also rallied his listener to support the BBI.
