COG condemns recent poll that ranked Waititu poorest performing governor
Two days after All Africa Advisors (AAA), a London-based research firm released a scorecard for the 47 county governors, The Council of Governors has come out guns blazing demanding an apology and even threatened to sue the firm.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Kakamega Governor and chairperson of the COG termed the recent poll as a mere political strategy by their rivals to paint the county chiefs in bad light.
The governors alleged that AAA didn’t follow the required protocol in conducting statistics because they didn’t seek approval from Kenya Accreditation Services.
“The council is of the considered view that the company has no locus to purport to have conducted a survey in the country with Kenya’s interest at heart,” said Oparanya.
“We equally note that the pollsters rank Kenya as the 7th most dangerous countries to live in (in the world) whereas there are other obvious war-torn countries that are not featured in the opinion poll. This shows that AAA is a company determined to destroy the image of the country and counties,” he added.
The survey which ranks Kenya the 7th ‘most dangerous’ country to live in was, however, conducted by InterNations.
The poll by AAA had ranked Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua top of the list while Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu ranked last
