How to get a loan from Haraka
About Haraka
Haraka is a micro-loan service that gives loans via an Android app. Loans range between Ksh. 500 and Ksh. 5,000.
It is owned by GetBucks, a South African registered lender. The Haraka app is active in Kenya and 4 other countries i.e. Uganda, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Tanzania.
To get a loan, you need to do the following:
1. Download the app
You need to download the app from the Google Play store here.
2. Create an account
Once you have the app, register a new account. You will need a Facebook account to create an account.
3. Fill in personal details
You will need to fill in personal details once you have logged in after creating an account. Some of the details that are required include:
- Name
- ID Number
- M-Pesa Number (Referred to as Wallet Number)
- Date of birth
4. Apply for loan
Once you filled the details above, the app will let you know how much money you will be able to borrow. The repayment period can be between 7-30 days. Once you choose the loan amount and the repayment period, the money will be sent to your phone via M-Pesa.
The loan interest is 23.45%. For instance, a loan of Ksh. 750 borrowed for a month will attract an interest of Ksh. 175.90 which will make the loan repayment amount to be Ksh. 925.90.
5. Others
You have to be between under 60 years old to get a loan.
