How to upload data to Dropbox on your Android device
Upload photos and videos manually
If you don’t have camera uploads enabled, you can manually add photos to your Dropbox.
- Open the Dropbox app.
- Open the Dropbox folder where you’d like to store your photos.
- Tap the + (plus) icon at the bottom of your screen.
- Choose Upload photos or videos.
- Find the files you want to upload, and tap to select them for upload.
- A check mark indicates the file has been selected
- Tap the folder icon, and select where you’d like the files to be added.
- Tap Set location.
- Tap Upload.
Upload other files from your device’s storage
- Open the Dropbox app.
- Open the Dropbox folder where you’d like to store your photos.
- Tap the + (plus) icon at the bottom of your screen.
- Select Upload files.
- You can select files from any location in your device’s local memory
- Tap Upload (or Open on some devices).
Upload files from an external SD card
If your device has an SD card, you can upload files to Dropbox from there.
- Open the Dropbox app.
- Open the Dropbox folder where you’d like to store your photos.
- Tap the + (plus) icon at the bottom of your screen.
- Select Upload files.
- Navigate to your SD card, and tap the files you’d like to upload.
- Tap Upload (or Open on some devices).
If you can’t view your SD card when browsing for files to upload:
- Tap the menu button at the top of the screen.
- Select Settings.
- Verify that Show advanced devices is checked.
