Kasmuel McOure back on TV after NaneNane March

Following the latest wave of protests dubbed #NaneNane popular young activist Kasmuel McOure spoke at a local station about the way forward for Gen Zs.

The series of protests that have rocked the country since June were organized and conducted by mostly young Kenyans, now famous as Gen Z.

What appeared as the usual angry sentiment on social media boiled to unprecedented levels when Kenyan youth marched to parliament on June 25th.

Despite the resolute resistance by police guarding the area, angry protestors forcefully entered the legislature and vandalized it.

The shocking scale of violence was in protest of the Finance Bill which had earlier been passed in parliament.

Gen Z took it upon themselves to protest every other Tuesday and Thursday since then, seriously disrupting businesses across the country.

Amid the deaths, abductions, and injuries from the police, the Gen Z went on what they called a tactical break.

On August 8, Gen Z took to the streets again for the #NaneNaneMarch, calling for the resignation of President William Ruto.

According to Kasmuel, this was just the beginning of the agitation for good governance.

“We will continue to agitate for good governance, and we will start with these small gains,” said McOure in response to a “What next for Gen Z?” question.

Gen Zs shift focus to immigration boss PS Julius Bitok citing ID and passport delays

Nyayo House has emerged as a possible area of interest for the upcoming Gen Z protests.

According to influential Gen Z figure Kasmuel McOure, the young revolutionaries have taken issue with immigration’s failure to release passports.

There have been reports of corruption and incompetence at the Nyayo House immigration headquarters.

Due to frequent breakdowns of the passport machines, the department is struggling with a significant backlog of passport applications.

A massive outcry by Kenyans compelled the Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki to make several impromptu visits to the premises to address the challenges.

The planned occupation by Gen Z is seen as a step to pressure the government to streamline the process and weed out corruption at the passport office.

“We are now coming to occupy Bitok’s office for his failure to release IDs and passports, KICD for promoting rape culture in form 3 textbooks,” announced McOure.

This comes as Immigration Department Permanent Secretary Julius Bitok reports that thousands of processed passports remain uncollected.

Kasmuel also confirmed that they are going to deal firmly with police brutality during protests.
