5 Things nobody ever tells you about morning sickness
Nausea and vomiting can be one of the first signs of pregnancy and usually begins around the 6th week of pregnancy. It can occur at any time of the day, and for most women, it seems to stop after the 12th week of pregnancy.
Morning sickness is not harmful to you or your baby, but if you experience excessive vomiting and cannot manage to keep your food down, you may have hyperemesis gravidarum, which may be harmful to the baby.
There are some commonly known facts about morning sickness but there are some things that might sound new to you, so what are some of these things?
It can go on throughout the pregnancy
Morning sickness doesn’t have to be all nausea and vomiting, it’s just the general sickish feeling that comes with pregnancy. For some ladies, it’s only during the first trimester and that’s it for them. other women will have this sickish feeling throughout the whole pregnancy.
Lemon works magic
During this time, nothing tastes or looks yummy to you. You probably can’t hold down anything. You can try taking lemon, all you need to do is put a couple of slices with some honey and hot water and your nausea will be soothed almost instantly or at least make it more bearable.

You may not vomit
When most people hear about morning sickness, all they can think about is all running to the washroom to vomit. But have you ever stopped for a second to think that it might be overrated? well, some people do vomit but not everyone.
Some mums will just feel fatigued and really sick but not throw up.
Get ready to feel sick and hungry at the same time
Yeah, you got that right. You are both hungry and feeling sick at the same time. This can be really frustrating to anyone and it can encourage more bouts of sickness.
So, to help, try drinking peppermint tea to settle your stomach. This will hopefully give you a chance to eat what you need to without the sickness and the temptation to throw up.
It’s not always in the morning
Just because its called morning sickness, that doesn’t mean that it only happens in the morning.
Morning sickness can creep up on you during the days or evening when you are going about your business. However, no-one tells you to prepare for the morning, noon and night with some women even getting sick throughout the whole night resulting in a lack of sleep.
